Safety and AI
Its AI educators will always say they are AI
Safety is a gate to opening, not a feature added later. Each rule below must pass in full before the first learner joins.
Every message passes three checks
A disclosure goes to a person
If a message mentions self-harm, abuse or danger, it never reaches a model. The learner sees a fixed message pointing to a trusted adult, and a person follows up.
Personal details are removed
Names, contact details, addresses, links and social handles are replaced with [removed] before any AI sees the message.
Every reply is checked
The whole AI reply is checked before the learner sees or hears it. A reply that asks for personal details, claims to be a person, links away or asks for secrecy is held back.
An AI tutor will never
- Claim to be a human, or hide that it is an AI
- Ask for a learner's name, age, school, address, photos or accounts
- Send links, apps or contact details, or move the chat elsewhere
- Show advertising, products or offers
- Ask a learner to keep a secret from their family
- Give medical, legal or other adult advice
- Decide a grade or a term outcome on its own
Where people stay in charge
- A human teacher signs every term outcome.
- A trained safeguarding lead reviews and closes every safety case.
- A registrar approves any credit brought from another school.
- A human agrees every support plan.
Before opening, the full safety test set has to pass at 100% against the real tutor, and a lawyer has to confirm the rules of each country before the school opens there. Both are still open.
